"Iromil" is a smartphone (iPhone) app used by OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. 's sales representatives when negotiating with clients and accepting orders.
The color chips that serve as the color standards for conventional printed materials and special color inks are OSP colors, and a total of 354 colors, including 350 special colors and four CMYK colors, have been digitized.The software has three functions based on these OSP colors.
By using this app, you can achieve more consistent quality results with less color variation caused by color matching.

■ Environmental considerations through waste liquid reduction

By setting frequently used colors as "OSP Eco Select Colors", the number of times the ink unit needs to be washed can be reduced (= reduction in waste liquid), which contributes to environmentally friendly efforts.
The ink unit needs to be washed every time the color is changed, and waste liquid is generated each time. If you limit the ink unit, i.e. the color, when printing, the same ink unit can be used, and the number of times it needs to be washed can be reduced. In order to be able to use the same ink unit, we have selected 36 frequently used spot colors and 4 CMYK colors from the OSP colors, totaling 40 colors, and set them as "OSP Eco Select Colors."

■ Three functions

1. Reproduce the approximate colors of the image

When you tap an image on the smartphone screen with your finger, the OSP color will extract a color similar to the selected part. Until now, when choosing a color, you had to choose a similar color from a color chip, but by using this app, you can prevent differences in color discrimination between individuals. In addition, the time required for color selection is reduced, allowing you to respond quickly.

2. Search RGB, CMYK, and Munsell color systems with OSP colors

In addition to the RGB colors of R (red), G (green), and B (blue), which are the three primary colors of light, and the three primary colors of pigments, C (cyan), M (magenta), and Y (yellow), you can also select from the OSP colors the CMYK color of K (black), and the Munsell color system, which represents color on a scale of three attributes: hue, lightness, and saturation.

3. Check the print finish for different paper types

You can check the print finish, which varies depending on the paper quality, such as mirror-coated paper, synthetic paper, and high-quality paper, on your smartphone screen, allowing you to respond quickly.
