OSP HOLDINGS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President: Matsuguchi Tadashi) is pleased to announce plans to build a new building at its Moji Factory (Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture) and that a ground-breaking ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

The OSP Group currently has 18 production bases nationwide, with the Moji and Okayama factories operating exclusively for film products. This new building is the eighth at the Moji Factory. We will work to strengthen our production system while also accommodating diverse work styles. In addition, the construction of the new building is expected to create 20 to 30 new jobs in Kitakyushu City.

■ Regarding the ground-breaking ceremony

Date and time: Tuesday, May 16, 2023, 11:00-11:30 Location: 2-15-2 (part), 21-20 Shinmoji, Moji-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture Shrine: Tonokami Shrine

■New building concept

Strengthening production systems

We will further strengthen our stable production system for film products and our system for responding flexibly to customer requests.

Accommodating diverse work styles

This will secure workspace for day shift workers while also automating some of the work processes, reducing the number of workers required.

Measures to reduce food waste

In the food industry, there is a need to review and extend expiration dates in order to reduce food waste. Demand is increasing as packaging materials are switched to high-performance film products, and we expect this demand to grow even further in the future.

■Environmental Initiatives

  • ①We plan to install solar power equipment on approximately half of the space on the roof of the new building and use the solar power to power our own factory.

  • ②By adopting an "aging box" in the equipment that hardens the dry lamination adhesive, it is possible to adjust the hot air, contributing to reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

  • 3) By introducing a thermocoil that utilizes waste heat, energy (LP gas) consumption can be reduced by 30%, further contributing to reducing CO2 emissions.

  • ④As the number of operating printing machines increases across the Moji Plant, we plan to actively move towards water-based gravure printing.

Overview of the new building

  • Building: Steel-framed, 3-story building, total floor area: 7,917.65㎡ (2,395.1 tsubo)

  • Capital investment: Approximately 4 billion yen
