OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President and CEO: Tadashi Matsuguchi Tadashi), a member of the OSP Group, is pleased to announce that Palmyashix® label has been adopted for refrigerated lunch boxes by Three F Co., Ltd. (Head office: Naka-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Hiroshi Yamaguchi).

The "Palmyashix® label" is a label made using Palmyashix® a paper made by pulping palm caps, which are left over after palm oil is extracted from palm kernels, and mixing them into a raw material. Since its release in May 2023, it has been well received for its natural color, which blends well with environmentally friendly products. Three F has recently adopted it for its "Three Star Bento" series of chilled bento boxes, which are particular about ingredients, manufacturing methods, and color, as it is environmentally friendly and has a high-quality, handmade feel. A total of five items will be on sale from Tuesday, January 9, 2024, and products using the "Palmyashix® label" are scheduled to be sold in the future.

Palmyashix® label will be used in the "Three Star Bento" series, which will be sold at 331 Lawson Three F stores (※) located in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama prefectures. The five products are the new product "Angus Beef Hashed Beef" and four existing products in the series: "Delicious Sauce! Hamburger Steak Bento," "Dashi Stock is the Key! Pork Pork Cutlet Simmered Bento," "Domestic Pork Motu Stir-fried with Spicy Miso Bento," and "Chicken Tatsutaage Bento with Ginger Soy Sauce."

■About the "Three Star Bento" series

This is a series of bento lunches developed by Three F that utilize ingredients and cooking methods that can be used in the chilled temperature range (5℃ to 10℃) to make the most of the color, texture, and flavor of the ingredients. They started selling chilled bento lunches in 1995, and after repeated improvements to the taste and menu, they branded it as "3-Star Bento" in 2002, delivering a diverse menu of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.

Palm oil, a type of vegetable oil, is widely used around the world as a raw material for edible oil, detergents, cosmetics, and more. After the oil is extracted, palm bean pulp is partially used as fertilizer, but incineration is prohibited because it emits black smoke, so it is piled up in the open. If it is left untreated, it can become hot and spontaneously combust, causing disasters such as forest fires. It also decays and ferments, producing methane gas and pests, which worsen the living environment in the surrounding area. By effectively using palm bean pulp fiber instead of wood pulp, it is possible to conserve forest resources while also contributing to solving problems in the living environment of the producing areas.
