OSP LABEL STOCK CO.,LTD. (Headquarters: Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture; President: Kentaro Kawakami), a group company of OSP Holdings that manufactures and sells printing paper for stickers and labels and processed film products, is pleased to announce that it has completed a new gas cogeneration facility that will supply electricity and heat, and held a completion ceremony on Friday, February 9, 2024, attended by Maibara City Mayor Michio Hirao and other relevant parties.

After a Shinto ritual was performed by the head priest of Oka Shrine, Matsuguchi Tadashi, President of OSP HOLDINGS CO., LTD., and Kentaro Kawakami, President of OSP LABEL STOCK CO.,LTD., gave speeches of thanks to all involved in the start-up of the new facility. In addition, on behalf of the guests, Michio Hirao, mayor of Maibara City, and Masayuki Inoue President of Daigas Energy Co., Ltd., also gave speeches. With the start-up of the facility, we aim to further strengthen our manufacturing, which takes into consideration the reduction of environmental impact, and our BCP measures.

■ Three purposes for introducing "gas cogeneration equipment"

This facility, which uses city gas as fuel to generate electricity equivalent to that of commercial grids while also making effective use of exhaust heat, has three objectives. The first is to strengthen business continuity plans (BCPs) to enable business continuity and early recovery in the event of an emergency, in order to fulfill the company's social responsibility, by using two sources of electricity, including commercial electricity supplied by the power company. The second is to contribute to the safety of the local community by supplying electricity to the "Private Community Cooperation Emergency Shelters" that were agreed upon with Maibara City in September 2022. The third is to reduce the environmental impact by saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions.

The OSP Group has signed an agreement with Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture regarding emergency evacuation shelters in cooperation with the private sector, and is cooperating by providing two facilities (OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. Shiga Factory No. 1 and OSP LABEL STOCK CO.,LTD.) as emergency evacuation shelters.
