OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President: Matsuguchi Tadashi), a member of the OSP Group, will begin selling three new torn-off washi paper labels for sake from July 30, 2025.
Our new torn washi paper labels are made from washi paper with a unique texture that resembles it has been torn by hand, and come in three colors: white, cream, and gold and silver. Compared to the torn washi paper we have manufactured and sold previously, we have added this new torn washi paper to our lineup, which is more abrasion-resistant. You can choose a label that suits the price and concept of your sake, as well as your target demographic. We also accept small-lot orders to accommodate small-lot production.
■Development background ① Responding to the increase in sake exports
With the boom in Japanese food overseas, the export volume of sake has been on an upward trend as shown in the diagram on the right. However, shaking during transport has been an issue, causing stains and other damage to the washi paper labels that go well with sake. Osaka Sealing Printing has researched and developed a variety of products to help customers solve their problems. This time, we have developed this product to meet the demand for labels as the overseas market for sake expands.

In addition to being consumed at home, sake is often used for special occasions such as gifts and souvenirs, and so it is available in a wide range of products, including high-priced items and rare products made using special manufacturing methods.We have strengthened our lineup of torn washi paper, allowing you to choose a label that matches your concept as a tool to further enhance the value and appeal of sake.
■3 types of washi labels for sake
Torn Japanese paper, white (highly wear-resistant type)
The label has a unique texture, made from torn Japanese paper, and pairs well with the traditional calligraphy logo.
The highly abrasion-resistant washi paper (compared to our previous products) reduces damage caused by friction during transport.
Torn Japanese paper, cream (highly abrasion-resistant type)
This pale cream-colored torn paper has a gentle impression and is easy to match with a variety of designs.It creates a modern feel when combined with calligraphy and illustrations.
We use highly wear-resistant Japanese paper (compared to our previous products).
Torn Japanese paper with gold and silver stripes (highly wear-resistant type)
This gorgeous torn washi paper is infused with gold and silver leaf. It enhances the special feeling of premium products, making it suitable for special items such as celebratory gifts and souvenirs.
We use highly wear-resistant Japanese paper (compared to our previous products).
