OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President: Matsuguchi Tadashi), a member of the OSP Group, has donated a total of 2,000 sticker labels to support a learning project on the theme of resource circulation at the National Okinawa National College of Technology (hereinafter referred to as Okinawa College of Technology).

The goal of this project is to protect Okinawa's beautiful natural environment, allowing people both inside and outside the prefecture to learn about the importance of resource recycling and environmental protection while having fun. Plain key chains made from discarded plastic products will be used as prizes in capsule toys, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Sakura Classroom (formerly Nago Children's Cafeteria). In support of the initiative of Okinawa National College of Technology students, our company donated 10 types of sticker labels to be affixed to the key chains. The designs include five featuring the Okinawa Prefecture symbol and five inspired by Okinawa National College of Technology's main and specialized courses. To enhance the design, the labels are treated with a digital varnish, which can be produced by several companies in Japan. In keeping with our commitment to resource recycling, the sticker labels are made from recycled PET bottles.

■ What prompted me to support recycling activities?

Plastic recycling has become a social issue, with the new Plastics Act promoting resource recycling. As a company that handles plastic film, we decided to make this donation in the belief that we could contribute to society through the students' passion.

■ Capsule toy prize keychains

The completed keychains will be used as prizes in capsule toys that will be placed in commercial facilities and tourist spots throughout Okinawa Prefecture. While enjoying the capsule toys, we hope to foster an awareness of environmental conservation, including resource recycling. Capsule toys are offered for 100 yen each, and a portion of the proceeds will be used to fund the operation of Sakura Classroom (formerly Nago Children's Cafeteria).

■Continued support

This initiative is attracting attention as a new model for realizing a sustainable society, as a good example of the fusion of students' creativity and practical ability, local awareness of issues, and companies' technological capabilities and awareness of social contribution. Going forward, we will continue to contribute to solving social issues by collaborating with various local educational institutions to support the learning and growth of young people who will lead the next generation.

■OSP Group's Sustainability

The OSP Group practices "sustainable management," which aims to realize a sustainable society by responding to various environmental changes and balancing business activities with the resolution of social issues. With the harmony of economy, society, and the environment in mind through its business activities, the group is working toward the SDGs under four sustainability policies: 1) the environment, 2) customers, 3) contribution to society and the community, and 4) human resource development and development. The group has also focused on SDG activities, such as supporting connections between businesses and welfare and registering universities as SDG partners. This donation was made as part of 1) the environmental initiative "reducing plastic waste."
