Biomass ink is based on the concept of carbon neutrality, and can be said to reduce (not increase) CO2 emissions compared to conventional inks.
What is carbon neutral?
The idea is that plants grow by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere, so even if they are burned when disposed of and CO2 is generated, the overall amount of CO2 does not increase.
There are limits to the use of petroleum-derived raw materials, but plant-derived raw materials are renewable.
Using biomass inks can reduce the consumption of petroleum-based resources.
