To print labels at high speed, a UV lamp that can dry ink instantly is essential.
However, with conventional high-pressure mercury UV, not all of the electricity is converted into UV light, and heat is also generated.
Not only does this require a large amount of electricity to produce the necessary ultraviolet light, but the unnecessary heat also raises the temperature around the printing machines in the factory, necessitating air conditioning, which consumes even more electricity.
By converting these UV lamps to LEDs, unnecessary heat generation is greatly reduced and the temperature inside the factory is less likely to rise, which is extremely effective in saving electricity.
OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. is working towards the goal of replacing more than 80% of all UV lamps with LED-UV lamps by 2030.
In September 2022, the introduction of LED lighting throughout the factory was completed.
This is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 194 tons per year.
