Signed the United Nations Global Compact

As a leading company in the seal and label industry, the OSP Group is committed to raising the standard of sustainable management and becoming a company that is even more trusted by our stakeholders. In order to do so, we signed the United Nations Global Compact in January 2024 and became registered as a participating company.

We contribute to solving social issues by proposing products that support a rich lifestyle while being conscious of environmental conservation in order to realize a sustainable society. We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities through our business activities, continue to take on the challenge of transformation so that we can remain a company that is needed in the future, and continue to work to further improve our corporate value.

The signatory companies continue to work towards achieving these goals, based on the personal commitment of their company leaders who agree with the 10 principles in four areas: protecting human rights, eliminating unfair labor practices, responding to the environment, and preventing corruption.

Art Brut
Designed paper bags

The OSP Group promotes and supports Art Brut (free artistic expression by people without formal artistic education). As part of this initiative, we have produced an original OSP Group paper bag that uses an Art Brut design and is made from recycled release paper.

Labor

Establishment of "Safety and Health Day"

We have designated October 1st as "Safety and Health Day" to promise not to cause any industrial accidents, to vow to realize a safe and comfortable working environment, and to maintain and promote the mental and physical health of employees, and to make it a day for all OSP Group companies to reflect on the importance of safety and health. We strive to think about safety and health and to use it as an opportunity to foster a safety and health culture. As a concrete initiative, each group company is conducting on-site patrols and a complete review of risk assessments.

Employees with disabilities
Creating a system that is easy to work in

OSP HEARTFUL CO., LTD. was established as a special subsidiary of the OSP Group in order to build an environment where everyone can work energetically, regardless of whether they have a disability or not. At OSP Heartful, we have created a system that posts work content and creates opportunities for communication. In order to help employees feel the joy of growing, we have made the work and skills visible, and we have established a support system so that employees do not get stuck alone.

Kurumin Certification

OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. has acquired the Kurumin mark as part of its activities to encourage employees to work for the company for a long time. The company promotes the realization of a work style that balances childcare and work, and strives to create a work environment that is easy to raise children in.

OSP Kids Garden Kokura

This is an in-house nursery school that opened opposite the Fukuoka Factory in April 2020. It was established with the desire for OSP Group employees to be able to thrive regardless of changes in their life stages, such as marriage, childbirth, and child-rearing.

Foreign Recruitment

The OSP Group employs a multinational workforce. We aim to create a workplace where everyone can work comfortably, by creating manuals in the language that best suits each employee.

Reducing the physical burden on workers

In order to reduce the burden on workers, we are improving machines and introducing robots. This not only reduces the physical burden, but also leads to creating a comfortable workplace where anyone, regardless of gender, can work safely.

Collaboration with educational institutions

Some of the OSP Group's locations accept field trips from educational institutions. At Innovation Center, we take advantage of connections with schools that OSP Group employees graduated from to hold discussions with graduates. We have also used the analysis room and joint laboratory to conduct joint experiments with educational institutions.

Environment

Introduction of LED-UV and highly efficient UV lamps

By using LED-UV and high-efficiency UV lamps according to the purpose, power consumption can be reduced, which contributes to reducing CO2 emissions associated with power generation. In particular, LED-UV does not require large-scale equipment such as large ducts to remove harmful ozone, which was necessary with conventional UV lamps. Furthermore, by introducing long-life LED-UV lamps, the frequency of replacement is reduced, which leads to a reduction in the number of discarded lamps.

Solar panel installation

At our Moji and Okayama factories, we have installed solar panels and use renewable energy for part of our electricity consumption.

Institutionalization of power consumption monitoring

At some of the OSP Group's locations, we have introduced power consumption monitors and monitoring software to make electricity usage visible. Furthermore, we have joined the power company's notification service, and are notified when the contracted power exceeds 85%, which leads to demand control and the reduction of energy usage. We have also created a system in which employees themselves can maintain their awareness of energy conservation by setting the amount of power consumption reduction per person and sharing information on monthly usage.

Heat shielding measures for drying furnaces

By installing heat shielding sheets on the drying furnaces, which become very hot during operation, and blocking the exhaust heat from the exterior walls, we are able to reduce the amount of energy used and the need for air conditioning in the work space. This leads to reduced environmental impact through energy savings and reduced CO2 emissions.

Introduction of gas cogeneration equipment

We have introduced a gas cogeneration system that uses city gas as fuel and generates the same amount of electricity as a commercial system while making effective use of exhaust heat.By using two sources of electricity, including commercial electricity provided by the power company, we are prepared for emergencies and are strengthening our BCP (business continuity plan) measures to enable business continuity and early recovery.

In addition, in September 2022, we signed an agreement with Maibara City to become a "Private Community Cooperation Emergency Shelter." This will ensure electricity when the facility becomes an evacuation shelter in the event of a disaster, thereby contributing to the safety of the local community.

It also helps reduce environmental impact through energy savings and CO2 reduction.

Establishment of an internal reporting system

In order to strengthen compliance management, we have established an "internal reporting system" in each Group company to provide a mechanism for the appropriate handling of consultations or reports from employees regarding organizational or individual violations of laws and regulations, thereby aiming for the early detection and correction of misconduct.
