OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President: Tadashi Matsuguchi Tadashi), a member of the OSP Group, is pleased to announce that it will be participating in the "Old Clothes Vaccine Heartfelt Project" run by Japan Reuse System Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masato Yamada).

This initiative involves purchasing special collection kits for unwanted clothing and fashion accessories, and donating polio vaccines to children in developing countries through the certified NPO Japan Committee, Vaccines for the World's Children (JCV). The collected clothing and fashion accessories are reused, and the process of collection, export, and sale creates new jobs. We agree that these are social contribution activities that correspond to nine of the 17 SDGs, and have decided to participate in the Magokoro Project (Plan B: 100 Special Collection Kits) for companies and organizations.

■The trigger was the switch from uniforms to casual clothes

At 33 sales offices nationwide, office workers are switching to casual clothing, making the uniforms unnecessary. When an employee at the Yokohama sales office learned that no use had been decided, he wondered, "Is there something we can do to make effective use of the uniforms?" and proposed the "Vaccines for Old Clothes" activity, which he had known about for some time, to the company. The OSP Group has a sustainability policy and is working on the SDGs, so it decided to participate. By donating vaccines for 500 people and collecting clothing and other items, the company aims to raise employees' awareness of the SDGs.

■Connecting the SDGs through clothing and fashion accessories

By purchasing a collection kit and sending unwanted clothing and fashion accessories, not only do you donate polio vaccines by purchasing the kit, but you also create connections with many people in society as the clothing and fashion accessories are reused in developing countries. The sorting and export of collected clothing and sales around the world create new jobs, and the clothing contributes to decarbonization through sustainable use. The kits are manufactured at welfare workshops across the country, and the designs are created by disabled artists and groups, supporting artistic activities, and each and every one of these connections contributes to the nine goals of the SDGs.

■OSP Group's Sustainability

The OSP Group is conducting "sustainable management" that aims to realize a sustainable society by responding to various changes in the social environment and balancing business activities with the resolution of social issues. Aiming to achieve harmony between the economy, society, and the environment through business activities, the Group is working on the SDGs by setting the following four sustainability policies: 1) the environment, 2) customers, 3) contribution to society and the community, and 4) human resource development and activity. This project is part of the initiative for 3) contribution to society and the community, "actively carrying out SDGs activities to promote harmony between job satisfaction and growth."
