OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President: Tadashi Matsuguchi Tadashi), a member of the OSP Group, will purchase additional collection kits for the "Old Clothes Vaccine Heartfelt Project" run by Japan Reuse System Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masato Yamada).

This project involves purchasing special collection kits for unwanted clothing and fashion accessories, and donating polio vaccines to children in developing countries through the certified NPO Japan Committee, Vaccines for the World's Children (JCV). In addition to being reused, the collected items will generate new work and employment during the collection, export, and sale process. The OSP Group, which has a sustainability policy and is working toward the SDGs, agreed with this activity and participated in the Magokoro Project (Plan B: 100 Special Collection Kits) for companies and organizations in October of this year. This time, they will purchase an additional 200 collection kits and will be collecting clothing and fashion accessories for the second time.

■ Social contribution activities spreading throughout the company

The reason for participating in this activity was to utilize the uniforms that would become unnecessary as the sales and administrative staff changed from uniforms to casual clothes. After learning about the sales department's efforts, the manufacturing and management departments expressed their desire to participate in the activity as well, and so the second event was decided. This time, the focus will be on collecting uniforms from factories. In addition to donating vaccines for 500 people, the company will also aim to raise employees' awareness of the SDGs by collecting clothing and other items.

■Connecting the SDGs through clothing and fashion accessories

By purchasing a special collection kit and sending unwanted clothing and fashion accessories, not only do people donate polio vaccines by purchasing the kit, but the process of the clothing and fashion accessories being reused in developing countries also creates connections with many people in society. The sorting and export of collected clothing, as well as sales around the world, creates new jobs, and the clothing contributes to decarbonization through sustainable use. The kits are manufactured at welfare workshops across the country, and the designs are created by artists and groups with disabilities, supporting artistic activities. Each step is connected, and this social contribution activity can achieve the following nine of the 17 SDGs goals:

1. Eliminate poverty 3. Health and Well-Being for All 5. Achieve gender equality
8. Decent work and economic growth 10. Reduce inequalities 12. Responsible Consumption and Production
13. Take concrete measures to combat climate change 16. Peace, Justice and Institutions 17. Achieve your goals through partnerships
